My project is based on a skateboarding company named ETN Media, Inc. located here in Northridge. They are a subscription-based app that showcases professional skateboarders through live recordings and events. Over the course of this semester, I learned so much more about the industrial and corporate side of media from the action in finding a client to writing in business style format and creating a solution for a company problem. Through certain elements of research and analysis, I learned how to identify the problem within ETN Media, Inc. and created a plan on how to promote and increase their subscription rates. I managed to create a schedule and a budget that was reasonable enough for a promotional video and other elements that unified the project. Joining the course with very limited knowledge of the terminology and concepts of the corporate side of media, gave room for learning and improvement. Although there were challenges in the development of this project it was a learning process that will help me in my future endeavors. Also, I know more about skateboarding than I ever thought I would, the skating culture is massive and I learned a lot by researching the history of the company.
