The Braven Capstone project was a group effort to generate an innovative idea to fix lack of diversity in the Tech Industry for the Chan Zuckerburg Initiative. Daisy's Umbrella was an effort to create a focal point for incoming students to test out a variety of non-profits. It was a semester-long challenge that involved interviewing students to conduct opinions, a variety of brainstorm meetings and a huge final presentation in front of CZI and Braven Fellows. This project prepared me for outward thinking, teamwork, and mentorship. During the project, we were guided by Braven Mentors that helped advise us to our full potential. I utilized a variety of skills I had from my Communication courses to utilize skills such as leadership, interpersonal knowledge, and organizational communication. Overall, this project was a really fun way for me to think outside of the box. It really helped me utilize teamwork as I became more open to opposing views to creat the best product.
